When we first arrived at Susan and Peter’s house, we thought we might be leaving today, but two days of sightseeing wore us out, so we used today to relax and plan for getting back on the bike tomorrow. We slept in and then enjoyed pastries from New Hope’s French Bakery, especially the delicious chocolate croissants. Alan found a stem extender at Firehouse Cycles in Yardley, PA, and he spent some time on Sunday afternoon installing it on Freya (that’s my bike) to raise up my handlebars a bit.
Staying an extra day gave us a chance to hang out with Joe and Leslie and have a swim at Dwight and Geri’s pool. Afterwards, we stocked up at the grocery, did a final load of laundry and started packing things up for getting on the road tomorrow. We sat down to do some route planning and realized that it was only a short jog out of our way to visit the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. Susan and Peter will be spending the 4th of July holiday at their house near Jack Frost Ski Resort, so we’ll bike up there in time to meet them for the holiday weekend.
